เมื่อวันที่ 13 พฤศจิกายน 2567 ที่ห้องประชุมโรงแรม Splash Beach Resort  อ.ถลาง จ.ภูเก็ต นายณธีภัฒน์ น้ำเงิน Managing Director Just Play Asia ในฐานะกรรมการสมาคม เอเชีย ลองไดร์ฟ  และนาย Shine liu เลขาธิการสมาคมเอเชีย ลองไดร์ฟ พร้อมด้วยตัวแทนนักกีฬาที่เข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน “เอเชียลองไดร์ฟ แชมเปี้ยนชิพ 2024”

ร่วมกันแถลงข่าวการจัดแข่งขันกอล์ฟตีไกล “เอเชียลองไดร์ฟ แชมเปี้ยนชิพ 2024” ครั้งที่ 2 ซึ่งกำหนดจัดขึ้นในระหว่างวันที่ 14 -16 พฤศจิกายน 2567 ณ รันเวย์ Phuket Air Park  ต.ป่าคลอก อ.ถลาง จ.ภูเก็ต ซึ่งถือเป็นครั้งแรกของโลกที่มีการจัดการแข่งขันขึ้นบนรันเวย์ของสนามบิน โดยมีคณะกรรมการฯ ผู้สนับสนุน นักกีฬา และสื่อมวลชนเข้าร่วมรับฟังการแถลงข่าว

นายณธีภัฒน์  น้ำเงิน  Managing Director Just Play Asia  และกรรมการสมาคม  เอเชีย ลองไดร์ฟ  กล่าวว่า  การแข่งขันครั้งนี้ นับเป็นครั้งที่ 2 ของรายการนี้ โดยครั้งแรกจัดขึ้นเมื่อปี 2022 ที่สนามกอล์ฟ ลากูน่า  ซึ่งได้รับการตอบรับเข้าร่วมการแข่งขันเป็นอย่างดีจากนักกีฬากอล์ฟของหลายๆ ประเทศ   จึงได้กลับมาจัดขึ้นอีกครั้งในปีนี้

โดยใช้พื้นที่ของ  Phuket Air Park ซึ่งเป็นรันเวย์ของสนามบินเล็กในพื้นที่ ต.ป่าคลอก อ.ถลาง ด้วยมองว่าเป็นความท้าทาย และถือเป็นครั้งแรกของโลกที่มีการจัดแข่งขันบนรันเวย์ของสนามบิน โดยเป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างบริษัท Just Play Asia Sport Management, Secetory of Asia Long Drive Association และ International Relation of Asia Long Drive Association 

สำหรับนักกีฬาที่เข้าร่วมการแข่งขัน มีจำนวน 24 คน จาก 8 ประเทศ  ได้แก่ ประเทศไทย, ออสเตรเลี, นิวซีแลนด์, ญี่ปุ่น, จีน, ฮ่องกง, สิงคโปร์และอินโดนีเซีย ชิงเงินรางวัลรวม 23,000 เหรียญสหรัฐฯ ซึ่งตนในฐานะ Board of Director Asia Long Drive และกรรมผู้จัดการ Just Play Asia ยืนยันถึงความพร้อมและการรักษามาตรฐานการแข่งขันให้ดีที่สุด เพื่อเป็นการประชาสัมพันธ์ให้เห็นถึงความพร้อมและให้เป็นที่รู้จักของนักกีฬากอล์ฟ  ตลอดจนผู้สนใจเพิ่มมากขึ้น  ดังนั้นจึงขอเชิญเชิญแฟนกอล์ฟที่สนใจกีฬาตีไกล เข้าชมการแข่งขันอย่างใกล้ชิดที่ ได้ที่  Phuket Air Park  ต.ป่าคลอก จ.ภูเก็ต โดยไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย ระหว่างวันที่ 14-16 พฤศจิกายนนี้  นายณธีภัฒน์ กล่าว

ขณะที่นาย Shine liu เลขาธิการสมาคมเอเชีย ลองไดร์ฟ  กล่าวว่า สำหรับการแข่งขันกอล์ฟตีไกลมีมานานกว่า 40 ปีแล้ว แต่บางประเทศยังไม่เป็นที่รู้จัก ส่วนใหญ่จะรู้จักกันในฝั่งเอเชียแปซิฟิก ยุโรป อเมริกา และเซาท์แอฟริกา ดังนั้นการจัดแข่งขันในครั้งนี้เปรียบเสมือนเป็นการสร้างการรับรู้ในวงกว้าง และเพื่อสร้างนักกีฬาตีไกลให้เพิ่มมากขึ้น นอกจากนี้เรายังมีเป้าหมายให้การแข่งขันครั้งนี้เข้าไปอยู่ในการแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิก 

อนึ่งการแข่งขันกอล์ฟตีไกลเป็นการแข่งขันที่มีความท้าทายน่าตื่นเต้น กว่าการแข่งขันแบบ 18 หลุม ประกอบกับมีกติกาที่เข้าใจได้ง่าย คือ ภายในเวลา 150 วินาที (2.50นาที) ผู้เล่นสามารถตีลูกกอล์ฟได้ 6 ลูก ซึ่งใครตีได้ไกลที่สุด คือ ผู้นั้นจะเป็นชนะ  โดยในการแข่งขันเมื่อปี 2022 ผู้ที่คว้าแชมป์ไปครอง สามารถตีไกลได้ถึง 403 หลา

Top Long Drive Players Gather in Phuket to Conquer 660-Yard Airport Runway

On November 13, 2024, the Asia Long Drive Association announced that the 2024 Asia Long Drive Championship will be held from November 14 to 16 at Phuket Air Park, Thailand. The competition brings together 24 elite long-drive athletes from nine countries and regions, including Thailand, Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

This year’s event marks a historic moment as, for the first time, an airport runway will serve as the competition venue. Athletes will test their strength and precision on the 660-yard runway, vying for the title of Asia’s Long Drive King.

A Legacy of Power and Skill

The Asia Long Drive Association, founded in 2021, successfully held its inaugural championship in September 2022 at Laguna Golf Club, Phuket. Steffan Scutti from Australia claimed the men’s title, Phillis Meti from New Zealand won the women’s division, and Akihiro Hotta from Japan secured the senior championship.

This year, the second edition of the championship promises an even stronger lineup, with champions from across the region competing for glory. The unique runway venue is set to push the limits of the sport, offering an exciting challenge for players and a thrilling spectacle for fans.
